Communication Made Easier.

Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms before using Deaf Help India. Last updated 6 September 2026.

Deaf Help India is a communication aid. It is not a medical service, a legal service, or an emergency dispatch service. In an emergency, contact the official emergency services in your area.

1. Who we are

Deaf Help India (“we”, “the platform”) provides free accessibility tools, Indian Sign Language learning material, job listings, community resources and emergency communication support for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people in India, at deafhelpindia.com.

2. Using the platform

The platform is free to use. Emergency Help, Hospital Help and the accessibility tools need no account. Live Caption, Conversation, Quick Talk, ISL, Learn, Jobs, News and Interpreter Connect need a free account.

You agree not to misuse the platform, including by submitting false or harmful content, attempting to gain unauthorised access, or using it in a way that could endanger another person.

3. What we do not promise

  • Availability. We aim to keep the platform running, but we cannot guarantee it is available at all times.
  • Accuracy. Job listings, community resources, interpreter listings and emergency contact numbers are provided in good faith, but details can change. Always verify important information directly with the organisation concerned.
  • Interpreters. We do not employ, book, vet the ongoing conduct of, or guarantee the availability of any interpreter listed. Listings are contact information only.
  • Captions. Speech recognition is automatic and can be wrong. Do not rely on captions alone for medical, legal or financial decisions.
  • Employment. We do not screen employers and are not a party to any application or hiring decision.

4. Emergency use

The emergency features help you communicate. They do not contact emergency services on your behalf, and nothing is sent or dialled automatically. You confirm every action yourself. Always use the official emergency numbers for your area when you need help.

Emergency features may be affected by network connectivity, device limitations, service availability, location services, or other technical problems. We do not guarantee that an emergency feature will always be available or work correctly. Do not delay contacting official emergency services while using the platform.

5. Interpreter listings

We do not employ, book, verify the qualifications of, supervise, or guarantee the conduct or availability of any interpreter listed. Interpreter listings are provided as contact information only.

6. Job listings

We do not screen employers and are not a party to any application or hiring decision. We do not guarantee the accuracy, availability, salary, working conditions, legitimacy or outcome of any job listing.

7. Your content

Notes, saved phrases and custom messages you create remain yours. Content saved only on your device stays on your device. Content you save to your account is stored so we can provide the relevant features across your devices and for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Accounts

Keep your password private. Tell us if you believe someone else has accessed your account. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile page. Some information may be retained where required by law, for legitimate security purposes, or as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate an account that is being used to harm others, violate these terms or our Community Rules, or otherwise misuse the platform.

9. DHI Services and work between users

DHI Services lets customers find service providers. Deaf Help India is not an employer, an agency, a contractor or a party to any agreement made through the platform. Any work, price or arrangement is agreed directly between the customer and the service provider, and payment is made directly between them. We do not collect, hold, transfer or refund money for services.

A profile marked as approved means only that our team reviewed the profile against our Community Rules at the time of review. It is not an endorsement, recommendation, police verification, background check, professional accreditation, qualification check, identity verification or guarantee of the person’s skills, conduct, availability or services. You are responsible for deciding who you work with.

We do not guarantee the identity, qualifications, licences, experience, availability, pricing, quality or performance of any service provider unless expressly stated otherwise.

10. Our role as an intermediary

Deaf Help India is an intermediary within the meaning of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We host and transmit content created by users. We do not initiate a transmission, select its receiver, or modify the information in it.

We follow the due diligence expected of an intermediary: we publish these terms and our Community Rules, we tell users what is not permitted, we act on reports and on lawful orders, we keep a named grievance officer, and we remove or restrict content and accounts where our rules or the law require it. Content published by a user is that user’s, not ours, and our not having removed something does not mean we have approved it.

11. Limitation of liability

The platform is provided as it is. To the extent Indian law allows, Deaf Help India is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of income, opportunity or data, or for loss arising from the conduct of another user, from work arranged through DHI Services, or from a payment made between users outside the platform.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of your use of the platform is limited to the total amount you have paid us, if any. Deaf Help India is free to use.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including liability for our own fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for our obligations in handling your personal data.

12. Your responsibility

You are responsible for what you post, for the accuracy of your profile, for the work you agree to do or to pay for, and for following the law. If a claim is brought against Deaf Help India because of something you did on the platform, because you broke these terms or our Community Rules, or because you infringed someone else’s rights, you agree to indemnify us against that claim and the reasonable costs of dealing with it.

This does not apply where the claim arises from our own act or omission.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms, or about anything on the platform that is difficult to use, can be sent to the support address on our About page. Accessibility problems are treated as faults, not requests.

See also our Privacy Policy and Community Rules. To raise a grievance, see Report a problem.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
